“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands…” 1 Timothy 2:8.
“Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
The Bible admonishes us to pray always, without ceasing. If we are to pray at all times, then what then should be the subject of our prayers, ourselves? Are we to pray for our personal needs without ceasing? I think not. I mean, there is only so much of your personal needs you can pray for.
“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone” 2 Timothy 2:1.
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6.
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.“ Colossians 4:12.
“Is anyone among you suffering hardships? Let him pray…” James 5:13.
Psalm 34:10 – “…But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.”
And many more.
“Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.” Romans 10:1.
“Answer me, LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” 1 Kings 18:37.
“Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8.
“Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer.” 2 Thessalonians 3:2.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5.
And many more.
Remember, “…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16.
Also, pray in the Spirit always because “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27.
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
‘Therefore, do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.'” Matthew 6:5-8.
