I used to watch a particular YouTuber whose name or channel I wouldn’t mention. Most of his early videos on YouTube were videos of him giving out money, food, and gifts to homeless people. He brought smiles and joyful tears to people’s faces as recorded on YouTube.
I stopped watching his videos when I noticed from some certain videos that he had narcissistic tendencies. Recently, he separated from his fiancé and baby mama, and has become openly rude and disrespectful not just to her, but to other females, and well, almost everyone else.
Someone may say, ‘being rude or disrespectful to his baby mama doesn’t mean that he isn’t a ‘good person’ considering how he gives and helps people around him. That should count for something, right?’ Well, I don’t know about him being good, but what I am sure of is that all the good deed COUNTS FOR NOTHING without Love! How do I mean? The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:3, “If I give all I possess to the poor and even surrender my body to be burned, but do not have Love, it PROFITS ME NOTHING.”
Someone else may think, “Okay, Aneta, how does being rude and disrespectful translate to having no love? I mean, Love is a thing of the heart. He had to have had Love to have even wanted to do so much good, right?”
Well, according to scriptures, Love is VERY PRACTICAL and not an intangible feeling of the heart. Love is supposed to be WHOLESOME and not in bits and parts. The Bible has laid out in the simplest terms what Love is. All we have to do is walk in these steps. But just like anything else in the Kingdom, we need the help of the Holy Spirit for a wholesome love walk, and we need to be accountable to grow and be more like God, “…For God is Love” – I John 4:8.
Like always, I try to understand the ‘WHY’ of anything I do thoroughly, so I’m intrinsically strengthened and motivated to carry it out to the end. In the next part of this series, we will delve into WHY we should strive to have a wholesome Love Walk.
It is a journey – a lifelong one at that. But one that is totally WORTH it. Till the next post, TAKE THAT FAITH LEAP!
