A few days ago, I wrote on God’s plan for you in the midst of the year, and understanding what it spiritually signifies. Sometimes, we hope and wait for a loud voice from heaven or a long-rod prophet to tell us what we ought to do. This is not to say that God doesn’t use prophets for our deliverance anymore. He still does. The Word of God is the prophetic standard we have – the more sure word of prophecy (see 2Peter 1: 19-21). If we know what God is saying to us from His Word per season, and we do the work by faith, then we are free.

But if you prefer to read, let’s get deep into it.
The continuation of this midst of the year series is for believers, the children of God who desire a divine manifestation in their lives desperately. I believe in practical Christianity. I don’t see the Bible as an exciting book filled with mere stories. For me, the Bible is a book that shows me how to put my faith into action to get God on the scene, just like how Abraham, Jacob, the Apostles, and others did. The reason this generation of Christians isn’t getting the same result as the believers in the Bible is because we are not doing the faith work they did. God is no respecter of persons. If we do what the people of old did, we will get the same results. The Bible puts it this way, FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD – James 2:26.
I hear a new generation of Christians saying, “You don’t need to do anything. Jesus has done it all, and grace covers it all. It’s just to believe,” I beg to differ. Many believers believe but do not manifest any part of what they claim to believe. Even demons believe and tremble! So Faith is believing God by His Word and proving that you believe by doing the work required. Faith gives value to our Christian walk. By faith, the people of God listed in Hebrews 11 got results, emerged as victors, and did great exploits in the kingdom. By faith, we can also command great results and triumph over challenging situations today.
Hebrews 11:6 says, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” Many Christians today go through life, knowing that God exists, but He is just somewhere out of their focus. He is no more the living God to them. But the God of Abraham, Isaac, and the Apostles is the living God, and the Bible is the living Word of God (see Jeremiah 10:10, Hebrews 4:12).
What makes the Word of God living? The Word of God comes alive from the pages of scriptures when we understand God’s Will concerning any subject and put it to work. It produces results just as it did for people in Bible times. Anyone, no matter his background, can prove God again and again by putting His Word to work and getting the same results.
The Word of God is the living word that lives and abides forever. Matthew 24:35 says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” Thank God for His Word because we can get the same results as the days of the Apostles. Doing the work of scriptures makes the Word of God alive in you.
A time of revival is when God comes down to dwell with men (see Habakkuk 3: 2&3). Revival begins with having a relationship with God. Romans 10:9 says, ” if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you are not born again, and you wish to be saved, pray along with me, “Lord Jesus, I come to you as a sinner, forgive me all my sins, and wash me of all unrighteousness, I accept you as my Lord and Savior, and I say come into my life and be the Lord of all. Thank You, Lord, for forgiving me and making me your child. Amen.” With that simple prayer, you are born again. Congratulations!
In my last post, I talked about the prayer of Habakkuk in Habakkuk 3:2, “O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.” The New International Version puts it this way, “LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time, make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” The midst of the year is a time of divine visitation and a time of the abundance of God’s mercy and favor. Psalm 102:13 says, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.” The time of mercy is the time God showers His favor upon us, and it’s the time that He manifests as our God in our lives.
To maximize the midst of the year season, that is, your time of visitation, partner with God during this revival season. Look at Habakkuk 3:3, “I see God moving across the deserts from Edom, the Holy One coming from Mount Paran. His brilliant splendor fills the heavens, and the earth is filled with His praise,” You see, that’s very powerful. God visited His people, just like how Habakkuk prayed. Now is the time God comes into the lives of believers, to tabernacle with them.
This post will be in two parts. First, I’ll be writing about the time of our visitation. Then the other part will be about maximizing this time of divine visitation.
From Habakkuk 3: 3-19, we read of the terrible things that happened, of the earthquakes when the Glory of God covers the earth. In Habakkuk 3:6, the Bible says, “He stood, and measured the earth: He beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: His ways are everlasting.” This verse tells us that the time of visitation is when everlasting hills are leveled, and everlasting mountains are scattered. Everlasting hills and mountains can signify enduring problems or challenges in our lives. Long time challenges that make it appear like God is sleeping on us, issues that make our faith and prayers appear ineffective. When God comes to tabernacle with His people, which is marked by a revival, every everlasting mountain is scattered, and perpetual hills are leveled. God supernaturally takes care of the long-standing issues, and miracles become the order of the day. Name it, miracle conception and babies, miracle jobs and career promotions, miracle marriages and connections, etc.
When God visits in the midst of the year, things suddenly begin to turn around, and prophecies come to pass. In Habakkuk 3:13, the Bible says, “You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For salvation with Your Anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, by laying bare from foundation to neck. Selah.” When God visits you, it’s time for your salvation. Salvation there means deliverance, rescue.
The time of visitation is when God brings His words to pass speedily in our lives, as in Genesis 21:1. “And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as He had spoken.” In the time of our visitation, the things that God has spoken concerning us, He brings them to pass in our lives speedily. The season of visitation is one of the fulfillment of prophecies. That’s how significant and how rich this season is for us.
The time of visitation is also when God brings you to higher ground, a place of rest. It means that this is a time when God gives you rest roundabout. In Genesis 50:24, the Bible says, And Joseph said to his brethren, “I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” What was Joseph saying? He was saying that God would bring them out of the land of Egypt, which turned out to be a land of torture, slavery, tears, and land of dead dreams in Moses’ time. The land of Egypt represents almost everything most of us are going through today. Joseph said, God will surely visit you, and He will bring you out of here to the land of abundance. What was the land God promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? He said God would bring his descendants out to a land that flowed with milk and honey, which is Canaanland. In the time of visitation, God moves you from a place of displeasure to a place of plenty, and that’s why it’s so important that we must what happens when God visits His people.
Now that we understand that the time of visitation is the time of supernatural turnaround, just as in Psalm 126:1-2, “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.” Therefore, understanding our time of visitation is important because it puts you in the right frame of mind to receive from the Lord.
In my next post, I’ll be writing about how to secure God’s manifest presence as in Habakkuk 3:3. Besides other blessings chronicled in Habakkuk 3, we enjoy joy unspeakable, full of glory in God’s manifest presence. Look out for God’s strange works and mighty acts as we partner with Him in this season.
I believe in practical Christianity. The miracles and changes I have seen in my life are because I put my faith to work. It’s interesting that the Christian walk is more a myth, and that’s why the Bible is there to lead us, help and guide us, and give us the key that opens all doors.
I hope this post has been a blessing and has kept you expectant of God’s presence this season. Thank you for stopping by. See you in the next post.
